IT’S JUST JESUS (IJJ) LET’S TALK BLOG

This blog was created for Christians to share the Word of God with each other to dispel a number of myths and misconceptions of the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (BIBLE) as many have adopted because the people of the world say so. Iron sharpens iron and the Word of God is sharper than any two edged sword. Let’s discuss the Word of God and strengthen our understanding of its revelation and instruction for our lives.

Let’s begin by looking at a few Holy Scriptures to establish a biblical foundation.

LIFE OF AFFLICTION vs. AFFLICTION A FACT OF LIFE

Merriam-Webster defines AFFLICTION as a cause of persistent pain or distress.

“I know, LORD, that your laws are righteous, and that in faithfulness, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.”

MEANING: Lord, I recognize and causatively know, I know because I have experienced and have a relationship with you that I have or certainly know, your divine decree including penalty, privilege, or even style are moral, just and righteous and firmness, moral fidelity and security, your faithfulness has chastened me. Lord, allow your merciful kindness be my comfort. I understand that afflictions come and are experienced in life by everyone to one extent or another; afflictions are simple troubles, challenging circumstances, unpleasant situations, and difficult people in your life, physical or emotional abuse and many more.

Troubles are a fact of life that we all experience. At times we just endure and other times we posture up and prepare ourselves for war and take action to resolve them. It doesn’t matter what we go through. The key is how we go through, what we can believe God for, and how we come out.

Jesus taught the disciples that they would be hated by the world because they were followers of Jesus.

“Everyone who wants to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”

Therefore, there is no reason to be surprised when trouble is experienced because of our faith. Instead, we should be surprised if we do not.

Paul recounts his imprisonment, beatings, stoning, shipwreck, dangers, hard labor, sleeplessness, hunger and exposure. Paul’s life as an Apostle., beatings, was everything but easy. It is hard to imagine persevering through all of that and yet; He was not discouraged, never contemplated retirement or another type of work. As you read this passage he is actually boasting about his afflictions.

This is exemplary of how we should deal with our afflictions.

  • LESS COMPLAINING, MORE GIVING THANKS AND FOCUSING ON WHAT GOD HAS PREVIOUSLY WARNED OF ABOUT.
  • Wherever, you find yourself in life realize that IT’S JUST JESUS by design and Him glorified.
  • BE ENCOURAGED!!! REMEMBER, GOD DOES NOT, WILL NOT PUT MORE ON US THAN WE CAN BEAR.
  • More importantly, afflictions are tests; and without tests there cannot be a testimony.

We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
