The topic of giving has become a major issue of concern for a number of churches and in the lives of many believers. It seems like this issue evolves from the misrepresentation of God’s representatives and misallocation of funds. Whatever, the reason, I am lead to present this topic for discussion in our “It’s Just Jesus (IJJ) Let’s Talk Blog” today.
Let’s begin by looking at a few Holy Scriptures to establish a biblical foundation.
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly (stingily) shall reap (harvest) sparingly, and whoever reaps generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion (distress/necessity), for God loves a cheerful (willing) giver.
Don’t allow the enemy to speak to you about there they go again asking for money. Realize that the church only has what people donate. If you are asked to give for the benevolent people in the ministry and community and you would like to support the mission, GIVE!! It’s not your responsibility to worry yourself about will they do it, give in Jesus name as if loaning God they money that you are donating and taking Him at His word that men will pour into your Bosom, pressed down, shaken together and running over. If the funds collected do not reach the requested mission, I guarantee God knows how to handle it and them. Let’s stop playing God, judge and jury and be responsible to the voice of God. For the best results we must follow the instructions. Let’s look at Proverbs 19:17 to gain a better understanding.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure (good portion), pressed down (packed), shaken together (more over), and running over (Overflow) shall men pour into tour bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured to you.
Notice, it did not say that when you give the person that you gave or poured into will be the same person to return the favor during your time of need. No look at what God is saying to His givers, “ when you give I am going to put it in the hearts of other men to pour into your bosom. You will receive abundance for your giving.
Notice, your greatness lies in your giving.
