UNIFICATION AND CONVICTION

Today we will be discussing discipleship from a 2-fold perspective, one being Unity with GOD and the other Unity with self. Let us begin:

Unity with GOD, understanding that this does not mean becoming a god. There are those that might want to debate this point however, for this discussion, we are not trying to appear ultra- deep, but we are not gods, we are AMBASSADORES and representatives of GOD AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD. However, basically speaking, to become unified with GOD means that we believe upon HIS SON unto salvation and then partake in HIS WORK of reconciliating sinful men to the only HOLY GOD, LORD OF LORDS, KING OF KINGS, ELOHIM, JEHOVAH JIREH, OUR PROVIDER. Spiritual Unity means Relating to the spirit or soul and not to the physical nature or matter, intangible, standing in a relationship, there goes that word again relationship, as it related to the intimacy of, based on the communication between the souls and/or minds of persons involved.

Unity of Self – this term implies that one loves him/herself properly; for when a person does not love themselves properly, they become divided; a person divided within himself can not stand or give themselves totally or entirely to GOD. Let me point out, that there are many things which can and will cause damage or unhealed areas in a person’s life. Some stem from or originate with abuse, neglect, or shear rejection, or even can be caused by the basic or standard instinct called Self-preservation. Self-preservation establishes a protective barrier from being hurt again; the BIBLE refers to this as a Stronghold. Now, a Stronghold can be defined as a fortified place; a placed dominated by a particular influence; a lie of satan which has established in our minds that we count as true but is a false belief. When these lies are embraced and/or adopted, they affect our attitudes, emotions, and behaviors … Identifying thinking pattern often become Strongholds. Self-preservation is the protection of oneself from harm or death, particularly in man and animals. The lie is that, usually, there is no real threat; it is just a perceived threat that evolves from believing the suggested lie of satan. This is also a basic instinctive behavior that we find present with Adam and Eve while in the Garden of Eden when GOD accosted or confronted their disobedience.

“Then the LORD called to Adam, and said unto him, ‘Where are you?’ and he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” And the LORD asked, who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?...

Watch how Self-preservation entered the garden, Adam, trying to protect himself blamed the woman, indirectly attempting to shift the blame on GOD because GOD had given her to him, the woman blamed, the serpent and GOD BEING THE FAIR AND JUST JUDGE dealt with everybody involved.

“For GOD will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”

The GOSPEL serves to unify the CHURCH. Unity is a byproduct of living within the GOSPEL. It occurs naturally as a result of following CHRIST as HE leads us into Peace with GOD and with each other.

“How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in Unity.”

The main key to overcoming division and factions is Unity, Humility, love and the FEAR OF GOD. Unity/Oneness activates the POWER OF GOD to operate in your family and in the BODY OF CHRIST. As described in Acts 4:31. The BODY OF CHRIST can and should accomplish much in the service of winning more souls for CHRIST. AS THE BODY OF CHRIST, WE MUST BE HOLY because GOD, HIMSELF is HOLY. Meaning, in an effort to live a HOLY LIFE we should become and be distinctive from those who do not know CHRIST, different from those who don’t know CHRIST and are nonbelievers of JESUS CHRIST.OUR GOD is dissimilar from all those other so-called gods. With that being said, we must live according to HIS WILL and give HIM GLORY. Remember, that was GOD’S INITIAL INTENT FOR MAN; THEREFORE, we were created in HIS IMAGE to be like HIM. A HOLY PERSON, one who has achieved a state of perfect ENLIGHTENMENT. Note I did not say, “weird”, We are Peculiar [ particular and special] Distinctive and authoritative, commanding of great respect. (Not demanding respect) but carry oneself with dignity and can be trusted for being accurate and true representative of GOD. In the presence of Unity, GOD commands a blessing in the lives of those who grow in Unity in our lives since GOD created man to be Interdependent; dependent on each other. When people are united there are remarkable things that can be accomplished and when the BODY OF CHRIST comes together there is no limit to the things which can and will be accomplished through a collective effort.
